Val studied music theory and started to learn the saxophone as a child. She has been a member of different Chamber and Symphonic choirs since junior high school and has especially sung works by Mozart, Brahms, Verdi and Händel. She has always used voice and singing in most of her projects. She took voice classes at the Valenciennes conservatory (as a soprano and alto), with Marie-Beatrice Gay in Lille, France, and rhythm and singing classes with Greek singer and musician Katerina Fotinaki. She is also self-taught.
She is curious about many different kinds of music and has a special interest for traditional Turkish songs, especially from the Black Sea area. She has sung songs from the Turkish folk repertory for over thirty years. She works sometimes with singers from that region living in Istanbul and Ankara. She is currently creating a traditional/electro track with singer Aysenur Kolivar.
She is conducting research about marching bands in the Midwest and collecting information about Samba schools in Brazil, and especially about the drumming section. An idea would be to bring together Samba schools and American marching bands in a single movie.
Singing and photographing are probably the two things she absolutely does every single day.
She finally started producing her own electronic music under the alias Sunny Wis in 2021.
Her style is pretty melodic and she obviously uses voice whenever she can.
She also creates music for choreographies for contemporary dance.
All of her tracks are available on main streaming platforms including Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music...
